Two Arrested In Birmingham On Terror Offences
Two people have been arrested in Birmingham on suspicion of terror offences.
A 25-year-old man and a woman, 23, are being held on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, West Midlands Police said.
The arrests were linked to Islamist-related terrorism but not with the London Bridge terror attack, it added.
Police are searching an address in the city as part of the investigation.

Killings In London At Highest Since 2008
The number of killings in London has topped last year's total and is the highest annual number for more than a decade, police figures show.
The fatal stabbing of 47-year-old James O'Keefe in Hornsey on Monday took the capital's 2019's homicide rate to 142.
The figure, which includes murders and manslaughters, is the highest number since 2008, a year when the Met investigated 154 deaths. The force said a total of 133 homicides were recorded in 2018.

Six Killed By Gunman In Czech Republic Hospital
A gunman has killed six people in a hospital waiting room in the Czech city of Ostrava before shooting himself in the head, police say.
Armed police found the suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot in a vehicle three hours later. The gunman was believed to be a patient at the hospital, one unconfirmed report said. His motive remains unclear.
Officers said they were called to the hospital in the north-eastern city at 07:19 (06:19 GMT).

Man Arrested On Terrorism Related Offences In Bristol
A man has been arrested in Bristol on suspicion of Islamist-related terrorism offences, police have said.
The 33-year-old was detained at 23:00 GMT on Monday as part of a planned operation at a flat in Tyndale Court, Imperial Road, in Clifton. The suspect is being held in custody while searches are carried out at the address.
Police said there was no risk to the public and the arrest was not linked to the London Bridge terror attack.

Online Training From Counter Terrorism Police Released
Free online training for the public on how to react to a terrorism incident is being made available by police.
The course devised by UK counter-terrorism officers and experts was previously only open to company staff working in crowded places such as shopping centres.
Counter Terrorism Policing is inviting people to take the course and become so-called CT Citizens.

Shooting At Florida Navy Base Treated At Terror Attack
The FBI says it is treating Friday's deadly attack on a Florida navy base as a presumed terrorist attack.
The Saudi gunman - who was training at the Pensacola site - killed three sailors before he was shot dead.
Special agent Rachel Rojas said the FBI was trying to determine if he had acted alone or had connections to a group. She said other Saudi students had been questioned but not arrested. They were reportedly confined to the base and co-operating with investigators.

Angela Merkel Visits Auschwitz Concentration Camp
Chancellor Angela Merkel has said Germany has an unending responsibility to remember the Nazis' war crimes, as she made her first trip while in office to the Auschwitz death camp in Poland.
The responsibility was "part of our national identity", she said. Her visit comes amid a rise in German anti-Semitism and ahead of the 75th anniversary of the camp's liberation.
The Nazi regime murdered an estimated 1.1 million people, the vast majority of them Jewish, at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Russian Diplomats Expelled By Germany
Months after a man was shot dead in a Berlin park, Germany is throwing out two Russian diplomats because it suspects the murder was ordered by Russia or Russia's Chechen republic.
The expulsions come shortly after Germany's chief prosecutor decided to take over the case.
Germany has accused Russia of failing to assist in the investigation. Russia has rejected accusations of its involvement as "absolutely groundless" and says it will retaliate.

22 Year Old Charged With 12 Terror Offences
A 22-year-old man from Bath has been charged with 12 terror offences.
Andrew Dymock, of Weymouth Street, was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation by counter-terror police into suspected right-wing terrorism online. He will appear before Westminster Magistrates Court later, a spokesperson for Counter Terrorism Policing North East said.
The charges include five offences of encouraging terrorism. He has also been charged with four offences of disseminating terrorist publications, two counts of terrorist fundraising, and one count of possessing material that is of use to a terrorist.

IS Bride Questioned By Dublin Police
Police in Dublin have been given a further 24 hours to question an Irish citizen who became an Islamic State bride.
Lisa Smith and her daughter were deported from Turkey and arrived in Ireland on Sunday. She was arrested on suspicion of terrorist offences on arrival by gardaí (Irish police).
A former member of the Irish Defence Forces, Ms Smith remains in custody at a south Dublin Garda station.
