    A man has been stabbed outside the Home Office building in central London.

    The victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police said.

    Officers were called to the building in Marsham Street, near the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, at 13:06 BST. A man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. The wounded man went into the building to seek assistance. The building is now in lockdown.

    China has condemned violence clashes in the Hong Kong protests as "behaviour that is close to terrorism" - in a sign of its rhetoric hardening.

    After days of peaceful protests at Hong Kong International Airport, clashes with police broke out on Tuesday night. Video showed an officer drawing his gun on protesters who beat him with his own truncheon during the disturbance.

    It is the second time in a week that Chinese officials have publicly likened the protests to terrorist activity.

    An armed man has been arrested after stabbing a woman in central Sydney and being detained on the street by members of the public.

    A second woman was found dead inside an apartment building on the same street.

    "All the information we have at hand would link these two crimes," police commissioner Mick Fuller said at a press conference.   • Norwegian Man Accused Of Terrorism After Mosque Attack

    A 21-year-old Norwegian man has appeared in court in Oslo, accused of terrorism in connection with a gun attack on a mosque at the weekend.

    His face and neck marked by bruises and scratches, Philip Manshaus was also charged with attempted murder, as well as the murder of his stepsister. Prosecutors are seeking to extend his custody for another four weeks. He appeared to smile at photographers before the judge opened the case behind closed doors.

    Mr Manshaus is accused of opening fire at the Al-Noor Islamic Centre in Baerum, west of the capital Oslo, on Saturday.

  • Four People Stabbed To Death In Southern California

    A man is in custody after a stabbing and robbery spree that left four people dead and two injured across several crime scenes in Southern California.

    Police told US media the violence appeared to be random, with the only known motives for the two-hour rampage as "robbery, hate, homicide". "We know this guy was full of anger and he harmed a lot of people," said Garden Grove Police Lt Carl Whitney.

    The massacre in the city of Uruapan in the western Michoacán state is thought to be gang-related, prosecutors say.

  • Police Officer Attacked With Machete In East London

    A police officer was stabbed with a machete in a "frenzied" attack as he tried to stop a van in Leyton, east London.

    The officer, aged in his 30s, suffered multiple injuries but managed to use his Taser on the suspect. His colleague then stepped in to arrest the man following the stabbing, shortly after midnight. Police said the injured officer was expected to recover from his injuries.

    At least eight people including service personnel were injured in the blasts near the town of Achinsk. Three of the injured were being treated in hospital.

    The depot reportedly contained tens of thousands of artillery shells.

    Seven men have been arrested after a large fight, which is thought to have involved football fans, broke out on a Tube train in central London.

    The brawl took place while the train was at Great Portland Street Station at 14:00 BST on Sunday. The men were all held on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in custody, British Transport Police (BTP) said.

    Supporters of Manchester City and Liverpool, who were playing at Wembley, were in the station at the time. The two clubs met in the Community Shield match at 15:00 with Manchester City winning on penalties.

  • Man Sentenced For Stabbing Police Dog

    A man who stabbed a police dog in the head in a "gratuitous" attack while high on drugs has become the first person to be jailed under Finn's Law.

    Daniel O'Sullivan, 29, admitted attacking Audi as his handler tried to make an arrest in Stoke-on-Trent. O'Sullivan, of Liverpool, was the first person charged under the Animal Welfare (Service Animals) Act 2019.

    Judge Paul Glenn said the attack on 1 July was "plainly premeditated" and jailed O'Sullivan for 21 months.
