    The man who shot dead five police officers in Dallas and wounded seven more was planning an even larger attack, the city's police chief says.

    Micah Johnson, 25, was angry with the recent killings of black men by police and wanted to kill white officers, police say.

  • Eid Gathering In Bangladesh Targated By Bombs & Gun Attack

    Militants have attacked police guarding the largest Eid gathering in Bangladesh, throwing homemade bombs and launching a gun attack.

    More than 250,000 people had gathered for Eid prayers at the Sholakia field in Kishoreganj district when the attack on a security checkpoint began.

    Police say four people, including two officers and one attacker, were killed.

    A black man has been shot dead by police in the US state of Minnesota as protests continued over the police killing of a black man in Louisiana.

    Philando Castile's girlfriend live-streamed the aftermath, showing him covered in blood with a police officer pointing his gun at him. He was shot as he reached for his driving licence, she said.

    It follows the death of Alton Sterling, who was shot dead by police during an incident in Baton Rouge on Tuesday. Hundreds of people have protested for two nights over Mr Sterling's killing.

  • Tony Blair's Invasion Of Iraq 'Not Justified' According To Chilcot Report

    Tony Blair overstated the threat posed by Saddam Hussein, sent ill-prepared troops into battle and had "wholly inadequate" plans for the aftermath, the UK's Iraq War inquiry has said.

    Chairman Sir John Chilcot said the 2003 invasion was not the "last resort" action presented to MPs and the public. There was no "imminent threat" from Saddam - and the intelligence case was "not justified", he said.

    Mr Blair apologised but insisted that lives had not be lost "in vain".

    The report, which has taken seven years, is on the Iraq Inquiry website.

    Kenyan lawyer Willie Kimani was tortured before being killed and his body dumped in a river, a pathologist has said in court.

    Mr Kimani, his client and their driver were abducted last month after filing a complaint against the police. Their bodies were found a week later. Four police officers have been arrested - they have not commented. There have been nationwide protests, with complaints that extrajudicial killings are widespread.

    The left foot was found among undergrowth on a property in Weston Park, Bath, on Monday morning.

    Police said they were linking the find to another left foot, which was found in a park in February, due to their "physical similarities" and close proximity of the discoveries.

    Saudi Arabia's highest religious body has denounced the three suicide attacks in the kingdom on Monday, including one near Islam's second holiest site.

    The Senior Council of Ulema said the bombers had "violated everything that is sacred". Four guards were killed near the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, while only the bombers died in Jeddah and Qatif.

    A suspected suicide bomber has died after detonating a device near the US consulate in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, the interior ministry says.

    Two security officers were slightly injured as they tackled the man, but no one else was hurt. The attack came in the early hours of US Independence Day and shortly before dawn prayers marking the start of the daily Ramadan fast.

    Militants attacked the Jeddah consulate in 2004, leaving nine people dead.

  • Authorities In Kuwait Thwart Three IS Attacks

    The authorities in Kuwait say they have thwarted three planned attacks by so-called Islamic State (IS), including a plot to blow up a Shia mosque.

    An interior ministry statement said security agencies had arrested five Kuwaitis and an Asian in a series of raids inside Kuwait and abroad. Those held include a woman and her son, who were living between Syria and Iraq.

    Last year, a Saudi suicide bomber killed 27 people when he blew himself up inside a Shia mosque in Kuwait City. At least one man has been sentenced to death in connection with the attack, which IS said it was behind.
