Two Tourists Killed After Mass Stabbings In Egypt
Two Ukrainian tourists have been killed in mass stabbings at a hotel in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada, Egyptian medical officials say.
At least four other people were injured and a man has been arrested. The suspect is being questioned by police to determine his motives, the interior ministry said.
The attacker appears to have swum from a nearby public beach to gain access to the resort, officials say.
Hurghada is a popular Egyptian holiday resort. It is renowned for its scuba diving.

Five Terror Plots Foiled In Last Few Months
Police have prevented five terror plots from being carried out in the UK in the last few months, London's most senior police officer has said.
Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick told LBC the plots "were very close to an attack" - with some "within minutes" of being carried out.
Four terror attacks have taken place in the UK in 2017 - three in the capital.
Ms Dick, who took charge of the Met in February, said the attacks in London and Manchester had been "horrific". She said a "very large number of plots" have been foiled over the last few years.

Two Policemen Shot Dead Near Sacred Site in Jerusalem
Two Israeli policemen have been killed and a third wounded in a shooting attack near a sacred site in Jerusalem.
They were shot by three Israeli Arabs close to the compound known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif (Noble Sanctuary). Police chased the attackers into the site and shot them dead. There has been a wave of stabbings, shootings and car-rammings of Israelis predominantly by Palestinians or Israeli Arabs since late 2015.
Two of the previous attackers were Jordanians.

Chinese Troops Head To Military Base In Africa
Ships carrying Chinese troops are heading to Djibouti to set up Beijing's first overseas military base, reports state media.
China says the support base will be used for peacekeeping and humanitarian aid in Africa and West Asia. It will also be used for military co-operation, naval exercises and rescue missions, Xinhua said.
China has ramped up investment in Africa, as well as rapidly modernised its military in recent years.

Four People Executed In Saudi Arabia Over Terrorist Attacks
Saudi Arabia has executed four people who were convicted of carrying out terrorist attacks.
The interior ministry did not identify who was killed, but said the offences were committed in the Qatif region of the oil-rich Eastern Province.
Qatif has witnessed protests and bouts of violent unrest in recent years. It is home to many of the kingdom's Shia Muslim minority, who complain that they are marginalised and discriminated against by the Sunni monarchy.
In the past two months, a series of attacks in Qatif have targeted security forces.

Thaad Missile Tested By US Over Pacific Ocean
The US military has said its controversial Thaad missile defence system successfully shot down a target during a test over the Pacific Ocean.
Thaad, or Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, halted a simulated, ballistic intermediate-range missile like the ones being developed by North Korea.
The test was planned months ago, but comes amid rising tension with North Korea over its weapons programme. Pyongyang claimed it has tested a series of missiles in recent weeks.

Fourth British Man Killed Fighting IS
A 22-year-old British man has been killed fighting against so-called Islamic State in Syria, Kurdish fighters have said.
Luke Rutter, from Birkenhead, Merseyside, was killed on 6 July in a neighbourhood south of Raqqa, in northern Syria, a statement said.
The fighters said he was killed "during the big campaign to liberate Raqqa from the terrorism of IS".
Mr Rutter's family said they did not wish to comment. He is the fourth British man to be killed while fighting against IS in Syria.

The four-minute film depicts a firearms attack unfolding at a hotel and uses the "run, hide, tell" safety message.
Thirty British tourists were among 38 people killed when a gunman attacked a Tunisian beach resort in June 2015.

IRA Bomb Maker Apologises For Birmingham Pub Bombings
A self-confessed IRA bomb maker who has said he was part of the group responsible for the Birmingham pub bombings has issued an apology.
Twenty-one people were killed on 21 November 1974 when bombs exploded in two city centre pubs. Six innocent men were wrongfully convicted. No-one has ever been brought to justice for one of the worst single losses of life in the Troubles.
Michael Christopher Hayes said he was sorry innocent people were killed.

Fight In Mexican Prison Leaves 28 Inmates Dead
A fight between rival gangs in a prison in south-western Mexico has left at least 28 inmates dead, officials say.
The pre-dawn fight broke out in the maximum security wing of Las Cruces prison in the city of Acapulco. The victims were stabbed and beaten to death, with some decapitated. The governor has ordered an investigation.
Acapulco is the largest city in Guerrero state, one of Mexico's most violent areas and a big centre for drug production.
