Claims IS Leader Baghdadi Heard In New Audio Recording
Islamic State militants have released what appears to be an audio recording of their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
A speaker who sounds like the IS leader seems to refer to recent North Korean threats against Japan and the US. He also talks of battles for IS strongholds like Mosul, which was regained by Iraqi forces in July.
Baghdadi, who has a $25m (£19m) US bounty on his head, has not been seen in public since July 2014, leading to much speculation about his fate.

MoD Armoured Vehicles Failing British Troops
Armoured vehicles designed to protect British troops from roadside bombs keep breaking down.
Foxhounds - first deployed in 2012 - were designed to safeguard soldiers in a blast and operate in hot conditions. An Army sergeant in Iraq, responsible for maintaining a fleet of seven Foxhounds, said the vehicle was "a massive waste of money".
The Ministry of Defence said Foxhound had dealt with "demanding conditions in Iraq" and was "keeping soldiers safe".

Woman Arrested On Breaching Official Secrets Act
A woman has been arrested by counter-terrorism police on suspicion of breaching the Official Secrets Act, the Metropolitan Police has said.
The 65-year-old had been working for the government and was detained after intelligence was received by police.
Scotland Yard said she was arrested at a property in north London under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

Man Dies After Police Shooting On M5 Junction
A man has died in a shooting involving armed police at a junction of the M5 motorway near Bristol. An eyewitness said officers fired shots at a car on the Portbury Hundred (A369) near junction 19 for Portishead at about 09:30 BST. He said he saw police shoot at the passenger window and drag a man out of the bullet-riddled car.
Avon and Somerset Police said it had referred the death to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). The force said it was not terror-related.

Myanmar: 28 Hindu Villagers Found In A Mass Grave
The Burmese authorities have accused Muslim Rohingya militants of killing 28 Hindu villagers whose bodies were allegedly found in a mass grave.
The army says the bodies of 20 women and eight men and boys were found in two pits in northern Rakhine state.
The state has been in turmoil since 25 August when Rohingya militants launched deadly attacks on police posts.
Over 400,000 Rohingya have since fled an offensive by the military, which the UN accuses of ethnic cleansing.

Seventh Arrest In Connection With Parsons Green Attack
A seventh person has been arrested in connection with the Parsons Green Tube bomb attack on 15 September.
The 20-year-old man was arrested in Cardiff at 06:00 BST under section 41 of the Terrorism Act and is now being held at a south London police station.
Last week Ahmed Hassan, 18, of Sunbury, Surrey, was remanded in custody charged with attempted murder.
A bomb partially exploded on a train at the Tube station in south-west London during rush hour, injuring 30 people.
Three other men arrested over the attack have been released without charge; two further men, aged 25 and 30, remain in custody.

Police Under Strain In An Effort To Fight UK Terror Threats
The UK's counter-terrorism effort is putting an unsustainable strain on policing, the head of the National Police Chiefs' Council has said.
Chief Constable Sara Thornton said resources were being diverted from mainstream policing in England and Wales, leading to backlogs in control rooms and slower response times. She said the strain was "causing real problems" and "frankly unsustainable".
The Home Office said it was working with police on the demands they faced.
So far in 2017 there have been five terror attacks in the UK, killing 36 people.

18 Year Old Charged With Parsons Green Terror Attack
An 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the Parsons Green terror attack.
Ahmed Hassan, of Sunbury, Surrey, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court this afternoon, when he will also face a second charge under the Explosive Substances Act.
Three other men, aged 25, 30 and 17, remain in custody.
Thirty people were injured last Friday when a bomb partially exploded on a District line Underground train. Many of those suffered flash burn injuries, while others were hurt in a crush when people ran down a staircase at the station.

War Of Words Continue Between President Trump & Kim Jong-un
Kim Jong-un has said remarks by "deranged" US President Donald Trump have convinced him he is right to develop weapons for North Korea.
In an unprecedented personal statement, Mr Kim said Mr Trump would "pay dearly" for a UN speech where he threatened to "totally destroy" the North if the US was forced to defend itself.
Mr Trump responded that the "madman... will be tested like never before". The two countries have engaged in ever more heated rhetoric in recent months.

Police Arrest Sixth Person In Line With Parsons Green Bomb
Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in south London in connection with last Friday's terror attack on a Tube train.
The teenager was detained after officers executed a warrant in Thornton Heath at around midnight on Thursday. It takes the total number of arrests in the investigation to six, all of whom remain in custody at a south London police station.
A homemade bomb partially exploded on a rush hour District Line train at Parsons Green, injuring 30 people.
Police have begun a search of the property where the teenager was arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act.
