Woman Dies After Stabbing Attack In Aldi
A woman who was stabbed to death in an Aldi supermarket was working in the store at the time, the town's mayor has said.
The 30-year-old was attacked in the store in Skipton, North Yorkshire, at about 15:30 GMT on Thursday. Customers and colleagues helped by pinning down the attacker before police arrived. A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Violence In Mexico On Rise As Six Bodies Found Hanging From Bridges
The bodies of six men have been found hanging from three different bridges in a region of Mexico popular with foreign tourists, authorities say.
Police said the bodies were discovered on Wednesday above busy highways in Baja California Sur state. Two bodies were retrieved from each location. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Such violence, which was once rare in Mexico's tourism hotspots, has been on the rise in recent years.

Crash In Melbourne Not Terror Related Police Report
The man who deliberately drove a car into a crowd in Melbourne is a drug user with mental health issues but no known terrorism links, police say.
The Australian citizen of Afghan descent was taken into custody after a struggle at the scene of the incident. The car the 32-year-old was driving hit a number of pedestrians on Flinders Street, a busy junction in the centre of the city, said Victoria Police.
Fourteen people have been injured, with several in a critical condition.

Counter Terror Police Continue Property Searches
Counter-terror police have resumed searches of two properties after they foiled an alleged Islamist terror plot that may have happened at Christmas.
Armed officers and an Army bomb disposal squad were involved in raids on five properties in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire on Tuesday.
Four men arrested under the Terrorism Act remain in custody. Searches at scenes in Burngreave, Sheffield, and at a house in Chesterfield are under way.

Huddersfield Man Receives 10 Years For Terror Offences
The brother of a suicide bomber killed in Iraq has been jailed for 10 years for terror offences.
Dentistry student Mohammed Awan, from Huddersfield, was sentenced after being found guilty of preparing for terrorist acts and possessing material likely to be useful to a terrorist. The 24-year-old was jailed for 10 years and ordered him to serve three years extended licence on his release. Awan's brother Rizwan Awan killed 30 people in a bomb blast in Iraq in 2016.

Missile Intercepted Near Riyadh
The Saudi-led coalition battling Yemen's Houthi rebels says it has intercepted a ballistic missile near Riyadh, Saudi state media report.
Witnesses in the Saudi capital posted videos on social media showing a cloud of smoke in the air and there were no immediate reports of any damage.
The Houthi movement's al-Masirah TV said rebel fighters had fired a Burkan-2 missile at the Yamama Palace.
Last month, a similar missile came close to hitting Riyadh's airport.
Saudi Arabia and the US have accused Iran of supplying the Houthis with the missile.

Man Arrested After Security Alert At RAF Mildenhall
A man remains in custody following an alert at a US Air Force base in Suffolk during which shots were fired.
The 44-year-man British man is being questioned over criminal trespass, after a car went through through a military checkpoint at RAF Mildenhall.
The base was temporarily put into lockdown as Suffolk police responded to reports of what they called a "significant incident". RAF Mildenhall said the base had returned to "normal operations".

Four Arrested On Terror Charges In Derbyshire And Yorkshire
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences during raids in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
Three of them, aged 22, 36 and 41, were arrested by counter terrorism officers at addresses in Sheffield. A fourth man, aged 31, was arrested in Chesterfield. A neighbour near one of the addresses reported hearing "an enormous bang", which shook her house as the raid took place.

Jailed Doctor Confesses To Spying Says Iran TV Programme
Iranian state TV has broadcast what it says is the confession of a Sweden-based Iranian national in jail in Iran.
The 17-minute programme purports to show 46-year-old Ahmadreza Djalali admitting he spied on Iran's nuclear programme for Israel.
Mr Djalali, an emergency medicine specialist, was sentenced to death on the charges in October.
Appearing relaxed in the footage, Mr Djalali says he was involved in an important defence project. He says the project brought him into contact with Iran's top nuclear scientists, and that he regrets having betrayed their trust.

Libyan Mayor Kidnapped And Killed
Unknown gunmen have killed the mayor of Libya's port city Misrata after reportedly chasing his car and kidnapping him.
Mayor Mohamad Eshtewi's body was found dumped in the street not long after returning to the city from an official visit to Turkey.
Libya's third-largest city is reputed to be safer and more stable than most in the conflict-ridden country. But the mayor had faced growing opposition earlier this year.
