Teacher In Utah Wounded When Gun Discharges In Toilet
A teacher in the US state of Utah who was legally carrying a gun in her primary school was seriously injured when it accidentally discharged, police have said.
The incident happened in a staff toilet before classes started and no children were in the building, officials said.
The unidentified woman was in a good condition in hospital by the afternoon.
Utah is among a number of states that allow people with permits to carry concealed weapons into primary schools.

Search For Pilot Called Off By US Navy After Jets Crash In Pacific
The US Navy has called off its search for the pilot of one of two jets that crashed over the western Pacific Ocean on Friday, a spokesman has said.
The two F/A-18C Hornets were operating off the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson when they came down.
The other pilot was rescued shortly after and received medical attention aboard the ship. He has since been released from medical facilities.
The two jets, which cost $57m (£35m) each, have not been recovered.

David Haines Latest - David Cameron Says Britain Will Hunt Down IS Killers
The UK will take "whatever steps are necessary" to keep safe after a video showing the killing of hostage David Haines was issued by Islamic State militants, the prime minister has said.
David Cameron said the UK would "hunt down" the killers of the aid worker, whom he called a "British hero".
He said the "menace" of IS had to be destroyed in a "calm, deliberate" way.
In the video, IS also threatened to kill a second Briton, who has been named as Alan Henning, 47.
Mr Henning, a married father-of-two from Salford, worked as a taxi driver and was a volunteer on an aid convoy.

Syrian Rebels Release Fijian UN Peacekeepers
Forty-five Fijian UN peacekeepers captured by an al-Qaeda-affiliated rebel group in the Syrian Golan Heights have been released, the UN says.
A statement said they were handed over to UN Disengagement Observer Force (Undof) personnel at 14:30 (11:30 GMT).
All the peacekeepers were in a good condition, it added.
Members of the al-Nusra Front captured the Fijians last month during clashes between rebels and Syrian government forces in the demilitarised zone.

Veterans Of Israeli Intelligence Refuse To Spy On Palestinians
Dozens of veterans of an elite Israeli military signals intelligence unit have said they will no longer serve in operations against Palestinians.
Forty-three past and present reservists signed a letter about Unit 8200, which carries out electronic surveillance.
They said the intelligence it gathered - much of it concerning innocent people - was used to "deepen military rule" in the Occupied Territories.
Israel's military said it held the unit to ethical standards "without rival".

CIA - IS Fighter Estimate Triples
The CIA says the Islamic State (IS) militant group may have up to 31,000 fighters in Iraq and Syria - three times as many as previously feared.
A spokesman said the new estimate was based on a review of intelligence reports from May to August.
IS has seized vast swathes of Iraq and beheaded several hostages in recent months, leading to US airstrikes.
US Secretary of State John Kerry is visiting Turkey, seeking more support for action against IS.
US officials say retired Gen John Allen will be tasked with forming an international coalition to fight IS.

Scores Feared Drowned As Libya Migrant Boat Sinks
Many migrants have drowned while trying to reach Europe after their boat sank off Libya, the Libyan navy says.
Navy spokesman Ayub Qassem said 36 people had been rescued after the vessel - which carried 250 - went down near Tajoura, east of Tripoli.
"There are so many dead bodies floating in the sea," Mr Qassem told reporters.
Reports are also emerging of another sinking, in which up to 500 people may have drowned last week off the coast of Malta.

Millions Seized In Los Angeles From Raids On Drug Money Laundering
Police in Los Angeles have arrested nine people and seized around $70m (£43m) in cash during mass raids on a series of businesses.
Officers said they suspected the money was being laundered on behalf of Mexican drug cartels.
In the dawn operation, dubbed Fashion Police, about 1,000 officers searched dozens of businesses in the city's Fashion District.
Police found $35m in cash in one warehouse alone.

Giant Amazon Observation Tower Built By Brazil
Construction has begun on a giant observation tower in the heart of the Amazon basin to monitor climate change.
The Amazon Tall Tower Observatory is expected to rise 325m from the ground.
Its instruments will gather data on greenhouse gases, aerosol particles and the weather in one of the largest continuous rain forests on the planet.
Brazilian and German scientists hope to use the data to better understand sources of greenhouse gases and answer questions on climate change.

Deal Offered By Prosecutors To German Islamic State Fighter
A man on trial in Germany on charges of fighting for Islamic State militants in Syria has been offered a shorter jail term in exchange for a confession.
Prosecutors in Frankfurt also suggested the deal would include receiving full information from Kreshnik Berisha, 20, about the inner workings of the group.
They allege Mr Berisha had weapons training and combat experience with Islamic State (IS) last year.
He was arrested at Frankfurt airport last December while on his way home.
