Attack Near Mosque In Finsbury Park Leaves One Dead & Many Injured
Prime Minister Theresa May says the terror attack near a north London mosque is "every bit as sickening" as other recent ones to hit the UK.
She was speaking after a man died and 10 people were injured when a man drove a van into worshippers outside the Muslim Welfare House.
Eight people were taken to hospital after the attack outside the mosque, which is also a community centre.

Eight Dead After Bomb Blast At China Nursery
An explosion at the gates of a Chinese kindergarten that killed eight people was caused by a 22-year-old man who died in the blast, police say.
Bomb-making materials were found in the flat where the man, named as Xu, lived, and the words "die" and "death" had been scrawled on the walls.
The blast happened just as parents in Fengxian in the eastern province of Jiangsu were picking up their children at the end of the day. It is being treated as a criminal act.
Xu had suffered from health problems and had dropped out of school but was employed, police said.

Police Arrest Man Outside Palace Of Westminster
A man has been detained by armed police outside the Palace of Westminster.
A bearded man, wearing black trousers and a grey sweatshirt, was seen being held against the fence with his arms behind his back by a police officer.
The incident is not thought to be terror related. The Carriage Gates entrance to Parliament is closed.
Evening Standard political editor Joe Murphy tweeted that there were shouts of "knife, knife, knife" and a man was brought down with a Taser.

Air Strikes In Syria May Have Killed IS Leader
Russia's defence ministry is investigating whether one of its air strikes in Syria killed the leader of the Islamic State militant group (IS).
The ministry said an air strike may have killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and up to 330 other fighters on 28 May.
It said the raid had targeted a meeting of the IS military council in the group's de-facto capital of Raqqa, in northern Syria. There have been a number of previous reports of Baghdadi's death.

International Criminal Court Calls For Arrest Of Gaddafi's Son
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has called for the arrest and surrender of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, who was released by a militia in Libya last week after six years in jail.
The son of late leader Col Muammar Gaddafi is wanted for alleged crimes against humanity during the rebellion that ousted his father in 2011. His location is unclear. The UN-backed government has condemned the release.
It is feared that the move could fuel further instability in the country.

Pizza Restaurant In Mogadishu Target Of Suicide Bomber
A combined suicide bomb and gun attack at a hotel and restaurant in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, has killed at least 18 people.
The attack started on Wednesday evening, as Muslims were breaking their daily fast during Ramadan.
A chef at the Pizza House restaurant, a modern venue popular with young Somalis, was among the victims.
Militants from the al-Shabab group held about 20 hostages during a shoot-out with police, which has now ended. The al-Qaeda affiliated group admitted carrying out the attack early on Thursday.

US Politician Injured During Multiple Shooting In Washington DC
A US Republican politician and aides have been shot during baseball practice in Virginia, US reports say.
Police in the upmarket Washington DC suburb of Alexandria said they were investigating a "multiple shooting" and a suspect was in custody.
US media said House of Representatives Majority Whip Steve Scalise and aides had been hit by gunfire.
Police tweeted they were "investigating multiple shooting 400 block E Monroe St. Suspect believed in custody."

Air Strikes In Syria Causing Massive Loss Of Civilian Life
UN war crimes investigators say US-led coalition air strikes on Islamic State militants in the Syrian city of Raqqa are causing "staggering loss of life".
Hundreds of civilians are reported to have been killed since March, as coalition warplanes support an offensive by a Kurdish-led alliance.
In the past week. Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters have pushed into the west, east and north of Raqqa.
The battle for the city has also led to 160,000 civilians fleeing their homes.

Met Police Officer Faces No Charges Over Shooting
A Met Police firearms officer will face no charges over the shooting of a man who was killed in a botched attempt to free a prisoner, prosecutors said.
Jermaine Baker was killed in London by armed officers in December 2015. He was with two other men in a car near Wood Green Crown Court who had intended to help spring an inmate from a prison van.
Firearms officers were deployed to foil the plan and the 28-year-old was shot dead during the escape attempt.

Police Woman Shot At Munich Train Station
A German policewoman was shot in the head when a man grabbed a police gun at a suburban station in Munich.
The woman, 26, was critically wounded and two bystanders also seriously hurt in the shooting at Unterföhring S-Bahn station, police said.
Police shot and lightly wounded the gunman, who is now in custody. Police said it was not a terrorist incident.
A major police operation is under way in the northern suburb of Unterföhring, and rail services have been suspended.
