Several People Dead Across Ohio
A number of people have been found dead across multiple crime scenes in Ohio.
The Ohio Attorney General's office could not provide the number of dead or how they were killed.
More than a dozen officials from multiple state agencies are currently en route to crime scenes in Piketon, Ohio, south of Columbus. Officials are not aware of arrests or an "active shooter" situation, said Dan Tierney, spokesman for the Ohio Attorney General.
Local media are reporting that seven people have died, according to a local pastor speaking to reporters.

Mali Hotel Attacks - Suspect Arrested
Authorities in Mali say they have arrested a Mauritanian man suspected of masterminding deadly attacks on hotels in the country last year.
Fawaz Ould Ahmeida is accused of planning, among others, the November attack on the Radisson Blu hotel in the capital Bamako that left 20 dead. Security services said he had been plotting to carry out attacks on Western targets in Bamako this weekend. They said he was a member of the al-Murabitoun jihadist group.
Al-Murabitoun, an affiliate of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Magreb (AQIM), has said it carried out the Radisson Blu attack.

British Students Inspired By IS To Kill Police And Soldiers Jailed
Two British students have been jailed for life for plotting to kill police or soldiers in a shooting inspired by so-called Islamic State.
Tarik Hassane, 22, of west London, will serve a minimum of 21 years after admitting conspiracy to murder and preparation of acts of terrorism. Suhaib Majeed, 22, of west London, was convicted of the same charges and will serve a minimum of 20 years.

Five Arrested On Terror Charges In Europe At Gatwick Airport
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences as part of an investigation launched after the recent attacks in Paris and Brussels, West Midlands Police say.
Three men, aged 26, 40 and 59, and a 29-year-old woman, were arrested in Birmingham on Thursday night. A fourth man, 26, was arrested at Gatwick Airport in the early hours of Friday. All five are from Birmingham.

Former SAS Soldier Jailed For Possessing Arms & Ammunition
A former SAS soldier has been jailed for possessing weapons and ammunition.
A 9mm self-loading pistol, ammunition, four Enfield pistols and a rifle component were found at Albert Patterson's house in Hereford, the Hereford Times reported. The 65-year-old was jailed for 15 months at the city's Crown Court.
He had already admitted three firearms offences, possessing prohibited ammunition and possessing ammunition without a certificate.

Paris Attacker Salah Abdeslam Had Nuclear Research Papers
Documents about Germany's Juelich nuclear research centre were found at Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam's Brussels flat, reports say.
The suspect, captured four days before the Brussels bombings, had internet print-outs and photos of the centre's boss, media network RND said. Juelich's reactor was decommissioned and German officials insist all nuclear plants are safe from terror attack.

Russian Fighter Jets Fly Close To US Warship
Russia says it observed all required safety measures when its aircraft flew close to a US warship in international waters of the Baltic Sea on Monday.
According to Russia's defence ministry, the Su-24 fighter jets "turned away in observance of all safety measures" after observing the USS Donald Cook. The ship was sailing close to a Russian navy base, the ministry said.

Boko Haram Video Shows Kidnapped Schoolgirls
A video released by Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram appears to show some of the schoolgirls kidnapped two years ago from the town of Chibok.
The video, apparently filmed in December, was sent to the Nigerian government and shows 15 girls in black robes identifying themselves as pupils abducted from the school. Some of those filmed have been identified by their parents. It is the first footage of the girls to be seen since May 2014.

IS Slogan Carved Onto Mans Head By Fellow Prisoner In Australia
An Australian prisoner who supports the so-called Islamic State has allegedly used a knife to carve a slogan on to his cellmate's head.
Reports said the Islamic State mantra "e4e", standing for "an eye for an eye", was carved into the man's head.
An inquiry will examine how the high-risk attacker, 18, came to be housed with his 40-year-old cellmate. New South Wales Corrections Minister David Elliot said placing the pair in the same cell was "a stuff-up".

Man Faces Trial Over PC Gordon Semple Murder
A man will go on trial for allegedly strangling and dismembering Met police officer Gordon Semple.
Stefano Brizzi, 49, is accused of murdering the 59-year-old officer at his flat on a day between April 1 and April 7.
Italian-born Mr Brizzi appeared at the Old Bailey wearing dark sunglasses and a grey tracksuit.
Recorder of London, Nicholas Hilliard QC, set a provisional trial date of Tuesday, 18 October. The prosecution alleges Mr Brizzi dismembered Mr Semple's body and disposed of it in communal waste bins on the Peabody Estate in Southwark Street, south London.
