US Announces Ban Of Large Electronic Items On Some Flights
The US has announced a ban on large electronic devices from cabin baggage on passenger flights from eight Muslim majority countries.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said extremists were seeking "innovative methods" to bring down jets.
Bombs could be hidden in laptops, tablets, cameras, DVD players and electronic games, it said. The measure will affect nine airlines operating out of 10 airports.
Large electronic devices will only be allowed on board in checked baggage. Phones are exempt from the new rules.

Cardiff Man Admits Five Charges Of Terrorism
A man who used a James Bond-style USB cufflink to store extremist data has admitted five charges of terrorism.
Samata Ullah, 34, of Cardiff, pleaded guilty to being a member of so-called Islamic State, terrorist training, preparing terrorist acts and possessing articles for terrorist purposes. He denied one charge of directing terrorism.
The Old Bailey court in London heard the Attorney General had decided to accept the pleas. The remaining charge will lie on his file.

800 UK Troops Arrive In Estonia To Strengthen Nato Defences
The first of 800 UK troops being sent to bolster Nato defences in the Baltic have arrived in Estonia.
The 120 soldiers from the 5th Battalion The Rifles will set up a UK headquarters in the country before the remaining troops arrive in April. The defence secretary said they would deter "Russian aggression".
The UK is taking a leading role in Nato's "enhanced forward presence" operation, aimed at reinforcing the alliance's eastern border.

More Details Released On Orly Airport Attacker
Blood tests have revealed that a gunman who attacked soldiers at Orly airport in Paris on Saturday had consumed drugs and alcohol.
Ziyed Ben Belgacem, 39, was killed after he put a gun to a soldier's head saying he wanted to "die by Allah".
Paris prosecutors' office said toxicology tests during his autopsy found traces of cocaine and cannabis.

Shooting At French School
A shooting at a school in the southern French town of Grasse has injured at least two people, police sources say, with a report suggesting it was an incident between two students.
One person was arrested but another suspect is on the run, a police source said.
Anti-terrorist commandos from the elite Raid force were sent to the scene, French news channel BFMTV reports. The government sent out a warning of a terrorist attack via its mobile app.
Grasse, the capital of France's perfume industry, is about 44km (27 miles) from the city of Nice, where a lorry attack in July killed 86 people.

Letter Bomb Sent To IMF Injures Employee
A letter bomb has exploded at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) office in Paris, injuring the employee who opened it, police say.
The IMF employee received hand and face injuries, and staff were evacuated.
IMF director Christine Lagarde condemned the "cowardly act of violence" against IMF staff.
In another development, the German finance ministry in Berlin intercepted a parcel bomb sent to Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble on Wednesday.
A Greek far-left group, the Conspiracy of Fire Cells, said on a website that it had sent the German device.

Yahoo User Account Data Breached
Two Russian spies are being indicted by the US Department of Justice over the theft of Yahoo user accounts, according to the Washington Post.
Previously, Yahoo said "state-sponsored" hackers were behind a 2014 breach affecting 500 million accounts. It was not immediately clear whether the charges, expected to be announced by the Justice Department later today, related to this breach.
Yahoo was criticised for the delay in informing users about the 2014 breach.

Twenty Five Dead After Suicide Bomb Attack In Damascus
At least 25 people have been killed in a suicide bomb attack at the main court complex in the centre of the Syrian capital, Damascus, state media report.
The bomber detonated an explosive vest after police tried to stop him entering the Palace of Justice, which is close to the famous Souk al-Hamidieyh market. Two hours later, a second bomb blast was reported in Rabweh, to the west.
The bombings come on the sixth anniversary of the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad.

Oil Tanker Hijacked By Somali Pirates
An oil tanker has been hijacked by suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia, reports say, the first such hijacking in the region in five years.
The ship sent a distress signal on Monday evening, saying it was being approached by high-speed boats. The gunmen have told a local official they are fishermen whose equipment was destroyed by illegal fishing vessels.
Piracy was rampant off the Somali coast until increased patrols by European naval forces contained the problem.

Inquest Into Death On Saddleworth Moor To Take Place
The death of a man whose body was found in mysterious circumstances on Saddleworth Moor will be examined at an inquest later.
David Lytton, 67, from London, was discovered at Dove Stone Reservoir in Greater Manchester on 12 December 2015.
It took police more than a year to establish his identity and a "provisional" cause of death was given as "strychnine poisoning".
A full inquest is scheduled to begin at Heywood Coroner's Court at 14:00 GMT.
